You are not the mind’s noise and you always have the power to choose again.

Mini Practice: Awareness, Not Control

“You don’t have to silence your mind.
You only need to watch it, and choose where you place your attention.”

1. Set the stage (1–2 min)
Sit comfortably, eyes closed if possible.
Have them notice the breath — not control it, just feel it.

Then say:

“Right now, thoughts may be moving. That’s okay.
Don’t try to stop them.
Don’t engage.
Just let them float by, like leaves on a stream.
You’re sitting on the shore — you’re not in the water.”

2. Offer a gentle focus point

“Pick something soft to rest your attention on —
like your breath…
or the feeling of your body in the chair…
or the simple thought: ‘I am here.’
Every time your mind drifts, just return.
Not because the thought is bad —
but because you’re choosing something else.”

3. Help reframe intrusive thoughts

“That thought? It’s just a habit. Just the ego saying, ‘Look over here!’
But you don’t need to follow it.
You can just smile, and come back to what matters to you now.”

🌀 Optional simple phrase to return to (like a mantra):

“I can choose peace instead of this.”
or
“That thought means nothing. I choose again.”

4. Make it a question (prayer):

“Do I really want to be at peace?”
Watch the thoughts that come when you ask the question.

4. Close gently:

“The mind doesn’t need to be quiet. You just need to know:
You’re not the mind. You are the one who chooses.
